6 stereotypes and statements about gays that are not true

- Talk in high pitched voice - If you got up to a gay guy and talk to him he will not talk like a 5 year old girl
- Walk funny/skip - If you see a gay walking on the street you will not know know he is gay by the way he walks
- Wear colorful clothing - Those are called flamers and not all are gay but most gays dress normally - it is true that many gays (such as myself) care about style and wear alot of different clothing but not like colorfully but in my case its like long cargo pants and a short sleeve t-shirt style. Many of us just care about how we look but not all do
- Only care about sex - We do not only think about sex with guys or anything perverted. We think of that as often as any straight would think about things like that with the opposite sex
- Are perverted - We are as perverted as any normal straight
- Being gay is a choice - For many people they are gay because they want to stand out or get attention but for others it is not a choice I myself should know for I never chose to be gay, i just never had an attraction to the opposite sex yet have one for the same sex

Hi :)

Hi my name is Michael and i am a 13 year old gay. I realized i was gay when i was about 8 years old. I came out to my brother for the first time in mid September 2010. At that time i had a girlfriend - I had one since I wanted to change myself because I didn't like being gay. My dad and other brother are homophobic and i myself am a roman catholic christian so being gay was a very hard thing to live with. I accepted my sexual orientation a few days after i came out to my brother though unfortunately I still sometimes wish i was straight. - in realization of the problem faced by LGBT's throughout their life i have decided to make a blog about it to help people with similar problems and help them realize that life will get better in the future
